About West Ham
West Ham United grew out of Thames Ironworks FC, a works team set up in 1895 by Arnold Hills, owner of the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, with foreman Dave Taylor. After disputes over how the club was run and funded, it was relaunched as West Ham United in 1900. The club moved to the Boleyn Ground in 1904 and joined the Football League in 1919.
West Ham won the FA Cup in 1964, 1975 and 1980, the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1965 and the Europa Conference League in 2023. Their youth system, known as the Academy of Football, produced Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, all World Cup winners with England in 1966. The club left the Boleyn Ground for the London Stadium in 2016, and its best-known rivalry is with Millwall.
